The Teaching Survey period is underway and students are encouraged to take time now to complete their surveys.
Research has shown that the most effective way to receive quality feedback through increased response rates is to communicate the importance of the survey process to students. Here are five tasks that faculty can do today:
- Send personal emails encouraging students to participate.
- Add the Office of Measurement and Evaluation of Teaching (OMET) survey block to your course(s) in Canvas.
- Show students where they can find their survey links.
- Talk to students about how to provide meaningful feedback.
-
Give examples of how you've used student feedback in the past in your course(s).
With new tools and resources in use to support Flex@Pitt teaching and learning, student feedback is critical. The University Center for Teaching and Learning/OMET is available to assist: contact omet [at] pitt.edu for more information. Deadline to submit surveys: Nov. 29.
