Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center Offers Researchers Early Use of Bridges-2

The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) has announced an opportunity for researchers to become early users of Bridges-2, the newest generation of PSC’s Bridges supercomputer computational research platform.

Funded by a $10 million grant from the National Science Foundation, Bridges pioneered research that united high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and big data in familiar software and computing environments for both traditional and non-traditional users. Bridges-2 will integrate new technologies for high-performance computing, machine learning and data analysis in formats to maximize productivity and ease of use. The 30-day Bridges-2 Early User Program will allow researchers to optimize and fine-tune their research applications and explore the resources of Bridges-2.

Researchers in the program will be able to: 

• Consult the Bridges-2 user guide 
• Access advanced user support  
• Access commonly used software packages and datasets 

PSC welcomes all interested researchers from computational disciplines, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, data intensive applications, and non-traditional computational researchers.  Applicants must be researchers or educators at a U.S. academic or nonprofit institution, and a faculty member or postdoc must serve as the principal investigator.

Applications to the program are accepted through Oct. 30, 2020. There is no cost for the Early User Program.
