Watch: Maggie and Stella’s Legacy

Sisters Margaret and Stella Stein were the first women to attend the University of Pittsburgh, then known as Western University of Pennsylvania. Though their male classmates dismissed them as “specimens,” they quickly upstaged their peers, graduating first in their class. Their accomplishments blazed a trail for all future Pitt women to follow.
