The University of Pittsburgh has rescheduled its winter commencement celebrating undergraduates and graduates in the Class of 2024. The ceremony will be held in the Petersen Events Center on Dec. 18.

The change was made to address concerns about the original Dec. 22 date — specifically that the ceremony would fall five days after the end of the semester and that it adversely impacted travel plans and family celebrations as it fell so close to the holidays.

Additional details about the ceremony will be listed on the commencement website at the start of the fall semester. Plus, follow @PittCommencement to see updates on your Instagram feed throughout the semester.

Eligible graduates will receive invitations in early October, with a Dec. 1 deadline to register for the ceremony. Eligible graduates will receive four tickets to the ceremony and can sign up to receive an additional two tickets if they become available.
