Alan Mulally — former CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Information, Space and Defense Systems, and The Ford Motor Company — will speak April 8 as part of the Hesselbein Lecture Series.

Carissa Slotterback, dean and professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, will moderate the virtual conversation about Mulally's “Working Together” leadership and journey leadership approach.

Renowned for his strategic and operational leadership and “working together” message, Mulally transformed a struggling Ford Motor Company into one of the world’s leading automobile companies. Mulally also led the transformation of Boeing into the No. 1 aerospace company in the world. He received the Leader of the Future award from the formerly named Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute.

The Hesselbein Lecture Series features proven leaders and thoughtful scholars presenting state-of-the-art ideas focused on today’s key management challenges and opportunities and is part of the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Forum in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh.
