Yanshan Wang, vice chair of research and an assistant professor within the Department of Health Information Management in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, was voted chair-elect of the Natural Language Processing Working Group for the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).
AMIA consists of more than 5,600 members and is a community committed to the vision of a world where informatics transforms people.
His research interests focus on artificial intelligence, natural language processing and machine/deep learning methodologies and applications in health care. His research goal is to leverage different dimensions of data and data-driven computational approaches to meet the needs of clinicians, researchers, patients and customers.
