The University of Pittsburgh is a Best College for Future Leaders, according to an analysis of the nation’s top influential leaders by Time magazine and Statista.

Pitt ranks at No. 51 on the list and is No. 24 of 50 among U.S. public schools. The Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business is listed as a notable subsidiary.

The ranking — led by Ivy Plus institutions like Harvard, Stanford and Columbia — is informed by the resumés of 2,000 top leaders in the U.S. and the universities and colleges where they earned degrees. The analysis included politicians, CEOs, Nobel winners and more across sectors.

The magazine noted that many schools on the list have notable business and law programs or are large research universities, but that an elite institution is not the only path to success. Leaders in fields like agriculture and aerospace, for example, come from schools that offer technical programs.
