W. Seth Childers, an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, was part of two interdisciplinary teams that received 2021 Scialog Collaborative Innovation Awards.

The Research Corporation for Science Advancement and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation awarded $1.3 million to nine teams in the final year of Scialog, an initiative launched to spark collaborative research to advance the fundamental understanding of chemical machinery and reactions in the intact cell.

Childers’ Chemical Machinery of the Cell team projects included “Toward an Atlas of All Biomolecular Condensates” and “Putting Bacteria to Sleep: Establishing an Artificial Circadian Clock.”
