Pitt-Greensburg opened its first relaxation station

Pitt-Greensburg’s wellness committee dedicated the first of what it hopes will many relaxation stations on campus. The room’s creation was funded by a 2022-23 Pitt Seed Project award.

The committee transformed a room in a campus coffeehouse to include bean bag chairs, a recliner, a textured blanket wall and a noise machine. Nature themes — including sunshine, sky and trees — tie the elements together, providing a space for students to unwind. The room will also be used for regular wellness consultations and yoga sessions.

The committee plans to create a variety of indoor and outdoor space on the Greensburg campus. The Year of Emotional Well-Being logo will be on display at the stations, which will eventually also feature rotating QR codes that lead users to mindfulness and relaxation exercises, guided imagery and information about campus events and resources.
