Alumnus Michael A. Lindsey named dean of New York University’s Silver School of Social Work

Michael A. Lindsey (GSPH ‘01, SOC WK ‘02G) has been named dean of New York University’s (NYU) Silver School of Social Work, effective July 1, 2022.

Lindsey is a leading scholar of poverty, inequality and child and adolescent mental health. His research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Lindsey’s research on adolescent suicide has led to the development of federal legislation to address the rising trend of suicide behaviors among Black youth.
