Alanna Howe, a sophomore in Pitt’s David C. Frederick Honors College, has been selected for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals. The program is a partnership between the U.S. Congress and the German Parliament. The program is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through nonprofit implementing partners such as Cultural Vistas.

While in Germany, Howe will attend a two-month intensive language course, study at a university and complete an internship in the field of mechanical engineering. Participants are placed with host families across the country, acting as citizen ambassadors of the U.S., creating lifelong friendships and establishing professional connections to enhance German-American relations.
