The Pitt-led PaTH Network earned $13M to continue its research

The PaTH Network — led by Pitt’s Kathleen McTigue and Michael Becich — has received $13,499,980 over four years to advance patient-centered research to address key health concerns of its communities.

PaTH unites researchers, patients, caregivers, clinicians, and health system leaders from Boston Medical Center, Geisinger, Johns Hopkins, RUSH University Medical Center, and others. As a network partner in the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet), PaTH currently supports seven clinical trials and 12 studies analyzing real-world health data to understand health trajectories and treatment outcomes. The PaTH Network also leads Engagement Advisory Boards for two major PCORnet studies, collaborating with patient partners to develop a tool that serves as a valuable resource for other research teams.

This funding renewal highlights PaTH’s pivotal role in transforming health care research through collaboration and community-centered approaches. In partnership with patients and health system constituents, PaTH is driving discoveries that improve health outcomes and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their care.
