Pitt-Greensburg to Move to Guarded Risk Posture on Aug. 24

University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg President Robert Gregerson announced today that the campus will move to the Guarded Risk operational posture on Monday, Aug. 24.

Instruction at Pitt-Greensburg during the period of Wednesday, Aug. 19, to Friday, Aug. 21, will still be fully remote. Beginning Monday, Aug. 24, instruction for many courses will be in person. However, faculty who have concerns about teaching face to face will not be required to teach in the classroom. The Flex@Pitt model provides the flexibility to switch between teaching modalities. Some classes that had been scheduled to be taught remotely will now be taught in person.

In the Guarded Risk posture, work from home is still encouraged whenever possible. Employees whose jobs are necessary to support permitted activities may work on campus, if it is consistent with each unit’s approved Activity Area Plan and the Return to Work protocol.
