Volunteers needed: Contribute your time to Pitt’s United Way Campaign

Pitt United Way volunteers participate in a kit packing and collection event.

Pitt’s United Way Campaign is seeking volunteers to work shifts at The University Store on Fifth. You can make a significant impact by donating your time; for each two-hour shift worked, the University’s annual fundraising effort will receive $35.

Anyone over 18 in the Pitt community can sign up for shifts Aug. 18-30. All volunteers must attend one of the virtual training sessions, at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 14. Participants will also receive a T-shirt and be entered to win a $50 gift certificate for each shift worked.

Each year, people across Pitt’s campuses support the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which collaborates with nonprofits to deliver solutions to struggling children, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, women and families in the region. Last year’s campaign earned $726,371.53.

Register to volunteer, and find more ways to give.
