The new and improved Pitt Seed Program launched this week with a call for innovative and transformative ideas that aim to strengthen Pitt’s people, programs and purpose.

The program, now in its fifth cycle, provides funding to assist faculty and staff in developing ideas that align with the University’s strategic plan, the Plan for Pitt.

Those interested in submitting proposals should create a video pitch no longer than 90 seconds describing their idea and how it will have a University-wide impact.

Up to 30 ideas will be selected during the first round, with the lead applicant from each team receiving a $2,000 stipend to move their proposal forward. In May 2022, 10 applicants from the pitch pool will have the opportunity to receive up to $75,000 for additional development of their proposals, and finally, two teams can earn up to $500,000 to apply toward implementation of their idea institution wide.

More information about the application process can be obtained by attending a virtual information session this month or by visiting the Pitt Seed Project webpage. All proposal videos are due by Feb. 7, 2022.
