John Proctor is the Villain
Visiting Lecturer Kelly Trumbull will direct this coming-of-age story set at a high school in rural Georgia, where students are studying “The Crucible” while navigating young love, sex education and school scandals. The touching and bitingly funny play by Kimberly Belflower captures a transforming generation and holds a contemporary lens to an American classic.

Corsicana
In a small city in the heart of Texas, a woman with Down syndrome and her half-brother find themselves unmoored in the wake of their mother’s death. Their close family friend, Justice, introduces them to a local artist, hoping he and Ginny can make a song together. Alison Mahoney, a PhD student in Pitt’s theater and performance studies program, directs this quartet about caretaking and caregiving by Will Arbery.

Cheating Fate
Graduate student Karim Chebli co-wrote and will direct this production of four interrelated short plays that take place in a single building in Beirut, Lebanon. Weaving together the residents' experiences as they face modern forms of racism and discrimination, the story takes the audience on a journey that emphasizes the importance of unity in the face of adversity.

Spring Awakening
The winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. This landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll that is exhilarating audiences across the nation like no other musical in years. Ricardo Vila-Roger, teaching assistant professor and head of performance, will direct.
