Winter Recess closures on the Pittsburgh campus

Students, faculty and staff on the Pittsburgh campus should plan for 2022-23 Winter Recess closures. Many campus buildings and resources will be on a modified schedule during these dates.

Student winter break runs Dec. 18 through Jan. 8. Residence halls on the Pittsburgh campus close at noon on Dec. 18 and will reopen Jan. 7. Students are encouraged to vacate campus housing no more than 24 hours after their final exam.

Winter Recess for faculty, staff and designated offices is Dec. 23 through Jan. 2.

Academic buildings: Check the building hours schedule for winter hours and holiday closures. All buildings return to their regular schedules on Jan. 3.

Campus recreation: All facilities will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 2.

Dining: Most eateries will be closed Dec. 18 through Jan. 2. See the food service hours of operation for locations with limited hours across campus.

Health services: Pitt Student Health Services and University Pharmacy will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2. The University Counseling Center will also be closed during these dates, but anyone in need of support can call 412-648-7930.
