Shakhzoda Tuychieva, a University of Pittsburgh School of Law student, was named to the 2023 class of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Dispute Resolution fellows.

The fellowship promotes careers and leadership in the field of dispute resolution — a term that encompasses a variety of strategies to provide an alternative for resolving conflicts and claims outside of court, which can be costly and limit the participation of involved parties.

Fellows complete a project with a committee during their tenure and are expected to remain active within the section in the long term. Tuychieva will serve on the Women in Dispute Resolution committee, which serves as a professional development and networking resource for women in the field.

Tuychieva, a graduate student assistant for the University Center for International Studies, will also attend the section’s annual alternative dispute resolution conference, which is the largest of its kind, in May.
