The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s creative arts magazine, Baily’s Beads, will hold a celebration Jan. 22 to launch the 2025 issue.
Admission is free, and the public is invited to the event, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Mukaiyama University Room in the Frame-Westerberg Commons. The event is co-sponsored by Pitt-Bradford Arts and the Pitt-Bradford creative and professional writing program.
Attendees can expect live readings from magazine contributors, an open mic for those interested in sharing their own creative work, refreshments and prizes.
The 2025 edition was edited by Randy Mong, an English major, and Angi Burns, a writing major. Nehal Palan, an interdisciplinary arts major and Corriehaze Choo, a double major in interdisciplinary arts and psychology, created designs for the edition.
Also among the student leaders for the 2025 issue were Assistant Editor Madyson Trama, a writing major; Editorial Assistant Sean Luce, a writing major; and Assistant Designer and Art Editor Maddie Cincala, who graduated in 2024 with a degree in biology.
The cover art, “Frog Pond” (pictured), is by Paige Belt, an environmental studies major.
