Katie Currie, a senior studying finance and supply chain management in Pitt’s College of Business Administration, won big on “Wheel of Fortune” during the game show’s 50th anniversary week.
She appeared on the episode with her identical twin, Christina, a senior at the University of Richmond. The sisters are from Severna Park, Maryland.
The twins kicked off the game strong, winning $12,100 in an early puzzle and trips to Portugal and Hawaii in subsequent rounds. Solving the game’s final puzzle earned the sisters an additional $50,000. By the bonus round, their total winnings had climbed to $88,248.
