PURCHASING INTERN

Organization:  UPMC
Job:  Record Storage Project Intern (six month purchasing project)
Location:  Pittsburgh, PA  (South Side Facility)
Responsibilities:  Researching and presenting solutions to on-going invoicing problems.  Working with vendor representatives to distribute destruction guidelines and report to UPMC departments and completing the preparatory work required before hospital and site visits.   Focus on collection and organization of relevant cost and usage data into Excel spreadsheets.  Writing of the request for bid and participating in final cost-analysis after the bid is closed.  May attend departmental meetings and vendor site visits, answer end-user questions related to record-storage, and participate in other record-storage related bids.
Qualifications:  Must be able to work ten to fifteen hours per week throughout the spring term, and work may be extended into the summer.  Students in junior or senior year are preferred, but other will be considered. Must possess a financial, management, or business-related background.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
