1 May 2011

Dear Fellows:

The Center for Philosophy of Science is very pleased to announce that the next Quadrennial International Fellows Conference will take place during the week of June 10-16, 2012 in Mugla, Turkey.  The Center staff is working closely with our host in Turkey, Professor Mehmet Elgin of Mugla University, to plan a very special event for the Fellowship.  As long time Fellows know, this is one of the most important ways in which the Center for Philosophy of Science fosters a sense of being a ‘lifetime Fellow’ of the Center.  These conferences allow Fellows who have visited at different times to meet, and have resulted in many collaborative projects among 'non-overlapping' Fellows.  We hope many of you will be able to attend.

As in the past, we ask those who are planning to attend to seek support for their travel from their own institutions.  The Center has only limited funds available to assist those who are unable to receive such support, and will consider requests for assistance on a case by case basis.  If a letter of invitation from the Center is required in order to secure travel funds, please let us know and we will be happy to provide one.

Best wishes,

John Norton, Director
Center for Philosophy of Science
University of Pittsburgh
